Classy and Minimalist Shopify Store Design and Setup

Santeli Candles is a small family manufacturer of interior decoration. They create Pillar candles with concrete bases and decorated with gold leaf. Made in Sydney, Australia.

The Client’s Request

The main request was to create a simple and minimalistic design with the aesthetics of a relaxing and home atmosphere but with a pinch of exclusivity.

The main goal of the website was more presentation than the store — my client wanted to create a presentational website. So, I proposed to combine a story of their brand with a showcase, to make customers more engaged to the products in the store.

The Process

The main decision was to make this store more competitive, and I provided competitive research first. Then I created the informational architecture of the store, combined the first low-fi wireframes of all the pages for the review, and moved to the design of the mockups.

The next step was to customize the Shopify theme according to all the requirements, preparing all the products’ photos, and additional apps’ setup.

What was done:

  • small UX research (User persona creation, finding the main competitors).
  • testing the user flow of the online store.
  • mockups of all the necessary pages.
  • Shopify theme customization and setting up.
  • Filling the store with the client’s products and all the other contents.
  • Inner FAQ and providing documentation for the further client’s usage.

Results

  1. The client has his first customers after 1 week after the launch of the store.
  2. All needed browsers and devices are covered with the responsive theme.
  3. The design process for Shopify was fully covered.
